We store the installation channel with the trial. If you optionally tell us how you found LocoLink, we store that answer with your trial. On Android, only after your separate optional consent, we read campaign labels from Google Play Install Referrer: source, medium, campaign, link label, partner code, first page path and referring website hostname. We do not read an advertising ID, browsing history or raw referrer URL. These details are linked to your trial and shown in an internal notification to the LocoLink owner, sent by Resend. Consent is separate from newsletter consent; refusing it does not affect your trial. We retain these details with the trial record, for up to 24 months after the trial ends. Email info@locolink.io to withdraw consent or request deletion. Previously delivered internal notifications cannot be recalled; copies follow the mail providers’ retention periods.
LocoLink is designed with your privacy in mind. We collect minimal data and never sell your personal information to third parties.
LocoLink stores your locomotive data, routes, settings, and configurations locally on your device and, if enabled, syncs them via Apple's iCloud service. For license activation and purchase verification, the app may contact LocoLink's license server with your license key, a generated device identifier, device label, platform, OS/app version and coarse region/IP-hash data so we can manage device limits, support, refunds, partner demo access and abuse prevention.
If you enable iCloud Sync, your app data (locomotives, turnouts, routes, macros, and settings) is synced through Apple's iCloud infrastructure. This data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

When you buy LocoLink through our website, we process the information needed to create and manage your license:
Payment details are handled by the payment provider. We store only the purchase and license information needed to deliver support, prevent abuse, calculate partner commission and manage refunds or subscriptions.
If a Google advertising click identifier is present, checkout shows an optional, unchecked measurement choice. Only when you select it may we send the click identifier, Mollie order ID, purchase value, currency and consent status to Google Ads after payment. We do not include your name, email address, billing address or license key in that conversion import, and ad-personalisation consent remains denied. Declining does not affect your purchase or license.
Since app version 2.0.3, the free 30-day Pro trial is registered on LocoLink's trial server when it starts. We store:
We use this to run the trial fairly, so each device and email address gets one trial, and to send service emails during the trial: a welcome email, tips on days 7, 14 and 21, a reminder when 3 days are left and a message when the trial has ended. We also use it for aggregate product statistics, such as platforms, countries and how many trials lead to a purchase. When you buy LocoLink, we link the purchase to your trial by your email address or device ID. The legal basis is our agreement with you (the trial) and our legitimate interest in a fair trial, a working service and improving LocoLink.
We only send the newsletter after the trial if you tick the newsletter box when you start the trial. That is based on your consent. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing never affects your trial.
During the trial, the app also reports which command station you connect: its type, protocol, connection method and firmware version. This report never contains the IP address, host name, name or serial number of your command station. We store it with your trial record and use it only in aggregate statistics to decide which command stations to improve first (legitimate interest). You can switch it off at any time in Settings → "Share command station statistics".
Cloudflare (Workers and KV) runs the trial server and stores the trial records; Cloudflare processes data on its global network, including in the EU and the United States. Resend sends the trial emails and stores email data in the United States. Both act as our processors. Transfers outside the EU are covered by their data processing terms, including standard contractual clauses where applicable.
Trial records are deleted automatically 24 months after the trial ends. After you unsubscribe, we use your address only to make sure you receive no further trial emails. You can ask us to see or delete your trial data at any time (see "Your Rights" below).
The LocoLink app contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking software, and we do not track how you use the app. The only data the app shares for statistics are the trial registration and the command-station statistic you can switch off, both described under "Free 30-Day Pro Trial"; we only use them in aggregate. The website does not load third-party analytics or advertising scripts. When a campaign, partner or advertising link already contains attribution parameters, the website carries those parameters through same-site links without placing a marketing cookie or browser-storage item. If you complete a website purchase, the relevant source, campaign, landing page and optional click identifier may be stored with the payment and license record. A Google Ads purchase conversion is shared only after the separate optional consent described above.
LocoLink communicates with supported command stations over your local network or local interface, depending on the system you use. Your layout data is not sent to our servers as part of train control. External communication is limited to services you choose or need, such as iCloud Sync, purchase verification, license activation, the free trial registration (including the command-station statistic, which you can switch off) and partner demo license validation.

LocoLink does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is suitable for all ages and does not require account creation.
You can request deletion of any data we have about you by contacting us at info@locolink.io. Since the app stores data locally on your device, you can delete all app data by uninstalling the app.
