Overview

LocoLink is designed with your privacy in mind. We collect minimal data and never sell your personal information to third parties.

Data Collection

LocoLink stores your locomotive data, routes, settings, and configurations locally on your device and, if enabled, syncs them via Apple's iCloud service. For license activation and purchase verification, the app may contact LocoLink's license server with your license key, a generated device identifier, device label, platform, OS/app version and coarse region/IP-hash data so we can manage device limits, support, refunds, partner demo access and abuse prevention.

iCloud Sync

If you enable iCloud Sync, your app data (locomotives, turnouts, routes, macros, and settings) is synced through Apple's iCloud infrastructure. This data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

Website Contact Form

When you submit the contact form on our website, we collect:

• Your name and email address
• The message content you provide
• Optional: platform and command-station/system information
• Optional: notification preferences

This data is processed by Netlify (our hosting provider) and used solely to respond to your inquiry and, if opted in, to send you release notifications. We do not share this data with third parties.

Purchases, Licenses and Partner Links

When you buy LocoLink through our website, we process the information needed to create and manage your license:

• Your email address
• Optional: your name and country, if provided during checkout
• Your license key, product, payment status, renewal or subscription status
• License activation data, such as generated device ID, device label, platform, OS/app version, activation date and last validation time
• Optional partner attribution, such as a partner code, referral link, QR or campaign source used for the purchase

Payment details are handled by the payment provider. We store only the purchase and license information needed to deliver support, prevent abuse, calculate partner commission and manage refunds or subscriptions.

Analytics

The LocoLink app does not include any analytics, tracking, or telemetry software. We do not track how you use the app. The website may record basic partner/referral attribution when you use a partner link or QR code, so the correct discount and commission can be applied.

Network Communication

LocoLink communicates with supported command stations over your local network or local interface, depending on the system you use. Your layout data is not sent to our servers as part of train control. External communication is limited to services you choose or need, such as iCloud Sync, purchase verification, license activation and partner demo license validation.

Third-Party Services

LocoLink does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only third-party services involved are:

• Apple App Store (for purchases and updates)
• Apple iCloud (for optional data sync)
• Mollie (for website checkout payments)
• Cloudflare (for license and partner portal backend storage)
• Netlify (for website hosting and contact form processing)

Children's Privacy

LocoLink does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is suitable for all ages and does not require account creation.

Your Rights

You can request deletion of any data we have about you by contacting us at support@locolink.com. Since the app stores data locally on your device, you can delete all app data by uninstalling the app.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "last updated" date.
